Waiting Period

The Waiting Period

Waiting can be hard, especially when what you're waiting for is very dear to you. That's what we're doing for the next ten or so days. What are we waiting for? Our mission trip to Eastern Europe. But, I’ll get there in a minute...

First, I want to fill y'all in about Dollywood, The Empty Cup, and The Wild Wing Cafe. Dollywood was a blast! It wasn't a walk in the park (no pun intended), but we love what we do as a family. The folks were amazing and very encouraging. We performed three different sets on Thursdayand Friday, June 7th & 8th, and John-Mark worked really hard on his timing for Orange Blossom Special and the Dollywood train. It was a SUCCESS and we will get the video up soon to our YouTube channel.

Our concert at The Empty Cup coffee house was up close and personal in a very relaxed environment. We loved it! It was a little different, but the people there were great. For those who are not familiar with this place, it is a quaint atmosphere where you can sit and enjoy a great cup of coffee while supporting an organization that promotes adoption as the best option. We hope to return there soon.

Performing at “The Shin Dig at the Wing” at Wild Wing Cafe was quite similar to our concerts overseas. Several folks stayed long after their meal was done, and that kept us going. We even had a couple who'd seen us at Dollywood come out. How cool is that? We hope to play there again and the other Wild Wing Cafe in Turkey Creek.

A quick personal note... Last Sunday, our dear friend, Mr. Jerry Salley, performed at Christ United Methodist Church which is right down the road from us! We were able to go see him and enjoyed hearing his amazing songs. Afterwards, he and his sweet wife, Ms. Erin, came over for lunch and a short visit. We are learning so much from this amazing couple! Thank y'all so much!

Now back to the mission trip. With our move and etcetera, we were not able to raise enough funds or make adequate time for a two month trip like the past two years. However, praise God, we are still going to Serbia for about a month. We are super excited to be going back and to see how God works through us! Please pray that God prepares the hearts and minds of the children and teens we will be teaching and the audiences for which we will be performing. So for now, we wait, in anticipation, for one of our favorite times of the year–serving the Lord overseas.

Next week, I hope to give y'all more information about our itinerary of the mission trip and specifically thank the special people God used to help us with funds, but that's all for now. Thank y'all so much for your prayers and support!
